This is the screening of Inferno I kind of hiphop musical which one of my friends plays the main part of Bea, theres also a bunch of mcs including Jeeday Jaws featured in the performance. Screening is tomorrow make sure you're there.


My exaust practically fell apart the other day and it amazed me just how much my car sounded like a dubstep soundtrack. I was sad to get it fixed.

The Greatest Grime Show Ever - The anticipation begins...

They hyped it up on Logan's grime show, now they are making me tap my toes with anoyance aswell as excitement. I want my ticket as much as the rest of you so get in the queue. I recon we'll even have to show we've pre-ordered the 140 Grime Street Album or do something silly like do 140 steps on one foot in the middle of Oxford Street while singing the chorus to Hustler.
Either way stay tuned in the next day for the down low of how to get your free ticket out of 2000 to the 'greatest grime show ever' - in a secret location. I remember people always saying that and then it ended up being cargo 9 out of 10 times - althought Cargo doesnt fit 500 people in let alone 2000. Craig David is apparently going to play a big part at the concert type event, he'll be on the door security hopefully very far away from the mic and stage.

A quick stop off tonight, check out Wiley's new video for Summertime - reminds me of Sam Sparro's 21st Century Life. Great old school video and the songs pretty good aswell, with the success off WMR and Summertime, Atlantic has signed up an album for him. I always thought Wiley was a member of Run DMC and I think this video proves my point. Possibly a Wiley Vs Dizzee come back. Please. It's the last time this week i'll ask. Promise.

From the same people that gave us Junior Spesh, they now bring us the results of eating too much chicken. I really don't like this track at all, the videos great there's no doubting that but I think the track itself isn't strong enough and the vocals are pretty much all over the place. Gracious K represents on it though, but it's just general not a strong track without comparing it to Junior Spesh. I miss my Barking Road flat. Sad times.

KISS 100 - Logan Sama featuring Kano, Ghetto and Skepta (1.9.08)

As soon as it hits September we got a little pinch and punch on the first day of the month. No wonder the sun has vanished it used up a whole summers heat and shine last night. Logan hosted a great show with Kano, Ghetto and Skepta - Apparently Wiley was suppose to be there, which of course would of been a great end to the summer since he's been blessing up huge stages and now can't even bless a set. Think you're too big for us now then Will? Radio 1 treating you well?

Before the set even started Kano and Skepta done some weird karaoke style P.A of a track they done together on 140 Grime St. It was pretty average but the bar that I stood out for me was an obvious dig at Wiley and Devilman - "...I think I speak for both of us when I say Lord of the Mics was a walk in the park". So Skepta you think that Kano murked Will ... ok. He did but still - Where's Will's Brother?

There wasn't much sending, well as much as the last time both were on Logan's, but it was a great show to listen to just for the energy. Logan mixed a great variety of grime beats in a selection of up to date and classic instrumentals like OI, Pulse X and Eskimo. Destruction was slyly slid in there aswell (which many of you may know from the legendary Wiley Vs Kano lord of the Mics clash - which Skepta was previously refering to). Is it in bad taste to compare kano flowing over it now to when he flow like this over it back then? Anyway 5 minutes into the set Ghetto pulled out a little sneaky send for Skepta in the form of this: “So when I squeeze you’ll be like what ya mean what ya mean” and then followed with - "...I run the grime show you ain’t got what it takes to come for man’s throne, I know there’s many mcs that can blow but none of them can stand close ….Let me make it crystal clear for ya I don’t wanna hear - What dya mean? what dya mean?” (4.55mins) then "...I got my enemies pairing up I’ll be like so? I’ll dun the pair of ya – WHAT!? What dya mean what dya mean?" (5:15mins)

There was little other sending too be fair which for the hype lovers was a little disappointing but then the energy especially between Kano and Ghetto was time machine worthy. Both of them seemed to be hyping off of each others flow like they were b2b on Deja Vu. As for new bars Kano came totally fresh out the box but through some parts it felt like his flow over powered what he was actually saying, compare that to Ghetto who wasn't even that skippy (well ok ok he was) mixed in freedom of speech lyrics with new ones. His flow had calmed down to a point where the words he says are more empowered so they are digestible to the reader. As for Skepta, I was disappointed, not in energy (well a little bit) but more for the fact he's been away for a lot of the summer and came back with the same bars he left we several months ago. It felt like Logan had taken clips out of month old sets of Skepta and just played them between the other two's breaks. I'm not saying for a fresh pair of 128bars every set that would be silly to ask but just some freshness to keep us all on our toes.

Don't miss out the little cute interchanging of 'Buss my nine' and 'Buss 1 Buss 2' lyrics between Skepta and Ghetto - so they are friends now yeah? All that's missing now is a ring and for them to set a date. That could be what's happening on the 30th of September in this 'top secret' grime event that is being hosted by Adidas. Can't even buy a ticket - apparently that's good because then people who really love the music will be there!? If paying £30 for a ticket doesn't show dedication then I don't know what does.



I made this before the show aired, I don't even know why I thought this would be a picture of their performances if you were deaf. Little did I know Kano didn't pop out the slowest ever swagger flow. I still like the idea of Ghetto skipping while he's spitting his skippy flow though - I'm strange. Skepta's just having a little sweep. I couldn't think of anything else. bye.

Wiley - Where's My Brother?



Even if your love for grime started a month ago or when Pay As You Go were dancing for champagne you would have realised the weird estranged relationship, if you can even call it that, between Dizzee Rascal and Wiley Kat. Skip back to Summer 2003, Dizzee and Wiley seemed on top of their game together, Boy In The Corner was ready to drop on XL as well as Wiley's Treddin On Thin Ice. Looking back this is obviously where friction started, Wiley had many labels interested in him and Dizzee was much like Bill's younger prodigy coming through the ranks, Wiley's manager Cage was helping him sign with XL and during this time was introduced to Dizzee. Cage saw the huge potential in Diz and seemed to put William in the back seat. In an interview with the Guardian back in March 07, Wiley reflects back "Dizzee's vision was further than mine at the time, and our manager had to take Dizzee to where he was going, but he left us all behind. I was in Dizzee's shadow. I was naturally jealous of him, and the label XL were focusing on him, and not really concerned about me. Me and Dizzee on the same label wasn't going to work: there was a conflict of interest there...”


Then of course there's the issue of the incident in Ayia Napa, the facts are still a bit hazy but to cut a long story short, the most consistent rumour is that Diz touched a certain woman's bum and a certain crew weren't too happy about it so in return roughed up Wiley and stabbed Dizzee just before his Mercury award winning album dropped. The distance grew...



Years passed by, with what it seemed with a minimum of words exchanged. Fast forward to 2007 and Dizzee announced his release date for his third album - Maths and English on June 4th of that year. After many label experiences Wiley at that time had signed an album deal with Big Dada and was dedicated to planning his release for Playtime Is Over for the same day. Some sort of weird subliminal message to Dizzee or just a plug for more media attention!? It obviously caught Dylan's attention as once both albums were leaked before the release date it seemed both artists had completely different ideas of where their friendship was going. Letter 2 Dizzee was Wiley's attempt on reuniting the Roll Deep duo, however Dizzee had different plans. His second official single P*ssyhole, it's second verse, "There was this particular MC man who was an older in my ends and I thought he was the dan... my cousin used to say he was a p*ssy undercover" . Even though in previous interviews he has tried to deny that, that verse was directed at Will - "Wiley thinks it's about him". That idea failed miserably for our old godfather, when Diz first heard Letter 2 Dizzee (which was documented by a journalist from the Guardian) he describes it pretty frankly -

His face, it must be said, is a picture - progressing from polite interest to utter bewilderment to resigned acceptance in response to Wiley's bizarre hotchpotch of hurt feelings and blustering self-justification.'This whole situation,' Dizzee says, wearily, 'is just so very gay. But it seems to be a constant part of my life, 'cause he ain't gonna shut up. I would have done anything for Wiley, man, outside of music, and he knows that. That's why this has carried on for years. If I hadn't put this whole thing behind me, I would never have made Maths & English. We could be shouting things at each other for ever - that's what we did on the estate. It's normal, standard, just a habit - but it'd be a shame and a waste of music to fall back into that.'

What now? Well with the success of Electro inspired Wearing My Rolex hitting the UK charts at No 2 (Sadly cut short by old Madonna's 4 Minutes of madness). Dizzee Dabbled in a little Electro and mixed it with his love for chatting up girls and dancing and hit the charts up at No 1 - Independently. Who would have thought the subliminal slaps would be in full view of the mainstream?

Imagine the hype though and how successful a track would be if these two got their heads banged together by Jeremy Kyle and put their issues behind them and made ONE track, that's all, put their musical abilities to one track and performed it ONCE. The hype and the importance of that one moment would bring so many different people together. I may just be getting soppy but seriously let's forget grime for a second, it would be a powerful moment for UK music as a whole. They're both at the height of their mainstream careers and this would certainly be put down in history, well my blog at the least. It seems Wiley is on the same wave length as me anyway... This is a couple of weeks old (Like I said before just catching up from my break) taken from Blackdown and Dusk's Margin Music. Buy now at HMV. I've been trying to pin point just the experience I felt while listening through the whole album. It took so long to try to explain to myself so let me just let Black down do it for you:

Rinse - Put 'Em Up (G Dub Production)


I've been pumping out a new track of Rinse's for a while now (You'll hear this a lot for the next couple of weeks because of me catching up with material from my break) and it's finally been dropped on radio, Radio 1, yeah I know!? It's a very good look. Not only has this tune got it's debut play on Radio 1 but Mike Skinner himself introduced him by saying he feels like what he felt like when he first heard Kano. Bonzaaaayyy!! His flows reminds me of Ghetto although instead of shotting O's, Rinse was watching Anime and reading marvel comic books. His content's like Durrty Goodz although replace the blurry year of being on remand with olympic karaoke sessions and as for clean rehearsed dance moves like the Rolex Sweep, he's broke so it's more like he's doing the robot.

This budding talent has being popping up all over the radar doing tracks with the likes of Durrty Goodz, Pro Green and a few artists I'm not allowed to let out of the bag, just this minute - but keep a good eye on him, yes even when he's wearing that dreadful hat. Silverlink Featuring Badness & Jammer - Message Is Love

I've been pumping out Message Is Love for more than a month now, maybe even longer, only because Magic said I needed some practice on my Rudeboy!! dance. A couple of months have passed and I think two things are evident. I can not dance and this is one hype tune. Demm Demm Demm DEMM. It cracks me up half way through the track how Badness just slows it down and starts drawing for the seduction lines. This is a definite Carnival hit.

DJ Magic, co-promoter and DJ behind leading urban night Dirty Canvas, releases The Message on his No Hats No Hoods label in September. He admits to being surprised by the high-impact fusion of soca, grime and soul.

'It's not a record you get straight away because there's so much going on, it's like being slapped round the face,' he says. 'It is soca and it isn't: I took it into a West Indian restaurant and they immediately said: "This is soca," even though they knew it wasn't from home.'
What's this cross-fertilisation down to? 'The internet and blogging are breaking down scenes,' suggests Magic. 'Five years ago, you wouldn't be able to get hold of the top ten dubstep tracks without going to a specialist record shop; today you can find all the music you want. It's making artists and producers aware of scenes they weren't aware of before and this bastard mix of music reflects what they're hearing.' Taken from Uprising the Underground in today's Metro

Summer's so quiet, everyone's sunning it out in foreign lands, while I'm trying to hold my yawns over producer battles and other boring nonsense. There is some good news though, apparently Wiley has signed an album deal with Atlantic, that electro glitch didn't exactly put the dagger too deep for William then. There's also an Eskibeat album in the works with Eskiboy and Ice Kid. It's only a matter of time till we see who the real talk of the town is. The last quarter is set to be a long awaited one with Wiley, Skepta, Boy Better Know and Kano, of many, to be dropping albums. If only time went as quick as Wiley's record deals. I'm a bit confused if I like Kano's new music, I'm trying so hard not to compare it with some of my favourite music from him from Home Sweet Home. One day I love Hustler, the next I think it's not the best opener ie. crap, I need to make my mind up, maybe the video will help me with that!?

Walk In Da Park was released this monday and apparently fans were left upset and some even angry when told that the album was no longer in stock after they had queued for hours outside HMV and other Independent music retail stores. 'At 9.30am in HMV there were reported fights between fans determined to get there hands on one of the last copies of the album.' I even caught some footage... I remember running over someone for dropping a blank cd on the floor. You should of just ordered it from Play.com or Uptown Records. You D*ck wipe. I'm just playing through my copy of the album, do you feel you had a gentle bop through the park or fully got jacked for your money by an old lady in the park for the CD?

Who would of thought a couple of months back these three would be on stage representing and getting reloads together, in Malia. It's nice to see people spitting side by side. Who knows I haven't seen an official Skepta and Ghetto Collab, well apart from The Streets and a few others. Let's open the doors and start working with the whole scene and allow the politics. Catch the usual Westwood jokes with Ghetto, Skepta and Tinchy here. "It's not that type of beach Skepta!! *Skepta shows blank face* The thing with skepta is his toe game is strong..."

JME - Ghetto Superstar


The long awaited debut album Famous? from JME landed nearly a fortnight ago and I've had a while to wizz through the tracks several times. If you've heard all or one of his previous project mixtapes: Shut Yuh Mut, Poomplex or Derkhead, then you'll know that Jamie Adenuga definitely has his own innovative angle of making music. Famous? is no exception especially with tracks like Ghetto Superstar, which sounds like how JME's life would of went if he had Ghetto's attitude. It's either a blunt direct or a sly hit it at him, either way it's a decent concept and Plastician's Production on this track ups the level of the whole album. Throughout the album there are several tracks that stand out with both strong production and concepts/lyrics - P, Famous and Show. The day I found out about a friend of mine being stabbed to death was when I literally couldn't stop listening to Punch In The Face. JME picks up on the cycle of street life that leads to some of the murders that we hear about so much these days. The lack of violent lyrics, which much of Boy Better Know's music seems to be keeping clear of these days, is refreshing. However I feel like some of the lyrics on tracks like 123 and the irritatingly annoying lyrics and production of Boogie down Bass lower the level of the whole album. Famous? is a whole other world from his Meridian Days, but still a great listen into a life that has been changed by being successful in music. It's Available in most places that sell music but if you can't be bothered to search here's the lazy links: HMV or Uptown Records. VIP album is out soon and It's easily a must buy, I can't wait to see what they do with it especially after hearing their Microphone Champion set.

This is one of my favorite tracks off of Lauren Mason's Keepin it Blonde album which will be dropping hopefully in the next couple of weeks. Despite a lot of people despising Madame Mason, to say the least, it's an album you have to take notice off before you can write her name off on to your I hate them list.

If you're talking the hardest then you'll know who's walking into a party sporting Armani and who's got half the crowd snorting his Charlie. If you still haven't clocked then wow, take a break from your schedule and look a bloody round. It was just yesterday that I was on the bus (which is not that often, holdtight the frank mobile) with the back of the bus vibrating from all the phones speakers blaring out the same Gigs Walk in the park freestyle. Some think he's boring has hell in his delivery and some think he's the greezy master. I think he's sick, his emotionless delivery scares me in some next way. Check out Gig's performance at sound with Westwood - the video is here. Skepta's clocked on to hollowman's hype and he's freestyled over the same beat take a listen to Madness. Now my pinky ring is bigger than Tinchy Stryder - Reload.



Tinchy Stryder - Stryderman (Wiley & Kano Refix)


Tinchy Stryder's electro track, which was recently popped into the radio 1 playlist, Stryderman has just been digitally released this week (If you like it download it now from Itunes). Along with the track there's also been several refixs floating about the net. Apparently Wiley's verse is officially on the physical release (out in the next week or so) and Kano, who produced the track, has also released some magic. I was thinking the other day with the whole Super hero theme, what grime artists would be which superhero. Obviously Wiley would be the Joker, Kano has the sleek pretty look for Superman, Tinchy blatantly would be the Incredible Hulk. BUT! who would Ghetto be? or Chronik? I was thinking Bossman would be Batman - Bossman Birdie?

While Kano's saving lives and making sure old Craig David's got his daily dose of steroids, he's been working on his album - 140 grime street. Which as we know has a whole heap of grime artists who we've been praying for years he'd work with. We know for sure that he's worked with Wiley, Ghetto and Skepta (Who also apparently produced the track), to keep more up to date with Kano's new album, hit up his blog - 140 grime street. Kano's been busy as well blessing up features on several up and coming projects, the newest one that's come to light is It's War from Rapid's pre album.
